Policies

Meet and greet:

We require a meet and greet prior to services in your home. We will tour your home to learn about your pet’s daily routines, where your pet’s supplies are kept and home security routines.  We will also review house hold information, payment policies, cancellation policies, and collect TWO working keys.


Payments:

We do require payment by check or cash prior to your departure date.
Our weekly dog walking clients will be charged on Friday after the visits.
 


Cancellations:

Customers must cancel 9pm the day prior to the scheduled walk or full payment is due.  We understand that our recurring customers will occasionally need to cancel due to sickness, please let us know by 9am the day of the visit and you will not be charged. Severe weather is also an exception. 


Keys:

We ask for 2 keys at the time of the consultation. Most people want us to keep the keys on file as part of our Ready key program.  Your key is coded away from your home address so that it can't be tracked to your location.  Our key program ensures we have the key for future visits and avoids key pick up and drop off charges . The key pick up/return is $10/visit. We will not leave a key inside as your trip could be delayed. Hiding keys outside is also not an acceptable solution.

 If a garage code is offered to gain entry to your home, it must be followed up by a key to your home in case of malfunction or power outage. 


Shared Responsibility:

For the safety of your four-legged loved ones and home, no other person should be permitted in your home during the service period.  Rising Sun Pet Care does not share duties with other persons and will not be held responsible for problems arising with your pets or home when someone we do not insure is involved. Our liability insurance will not cover both parties. 


Minimum Visit:

Vacation care customers are required daily visits for cats and 3x or more visits per day for dogs.


Time Block Arrivals:

Our arrival will be within a three hour agreed on window of time.


"Home Sweet Home!"

We ask that you contact Rising Sun Pet Sitting by text or phone when you arrive home.  We will continue visiting your pets if we don't receive notice that you have arrived home.  


Privacy Policy:

All of your information will be kept private and confidential. Rising Sun highly respects our clients entrusting us with the care of their home and their pets. 


Aggressive Behavior:

If a pet has a history of biting or other aggressive behavior, Rising Sun reserves the right to refuse service. Bites must be reported to the local authorities as provided by law. The owner will be liable for the pet sitters medical care expenses and damages that result from an animal bite.


Inclement Weather:

In the event of inclement weather, Rising Sun Pet Sitting has requested the name and phone number of a person living nearby. We will make every effort to visit your home; If Rising Sun is physically unable to reach your home due to a 'state of emergency', please provide us with emergency contact information so that we can contact this person to request assistance. Your pets’ health and well-being is our utmost concern and we will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed of these events.


Vaccinations:

Rising Sun requires that all pets have the necessary vaccinations and immunizations as required by law. Please provide a photocopy of these to retain for our records.
